Let’s celebrate World Bee Day and begin your Honey Bee journey with a Professional Bee Keeper from our team at Field Phillip Island.

No experience is necessary for this informative and hands on four hour session.

This interactive workshop offers two sessions which will equip you with the basics about keeping a healthy colony of Honey Bee’s.

It’s an ideal workshop for adults who would like to know more about what to expect as a Bee Keeper, without the committment of 40,000 Honey Bees!

Our four hour option includes two sessions.

Session 1 on Sunday 6 April 10am-12pm @ Clay & Co

The Wow and How of Honey Bees including:

– What makes up a Honey Bee Colony?

– Safety around Honey Bees

– Getting your Backyard Honey Bee Friendly

– Bee Keeping Equipment…How does a FLOW Hive work?

– Honey Bee Health

– And best of all, begin your journey towards harvesting your own Honey!

 

Session 2* on Sunday 6 April 2-4pm @ Field Phillip Island

Hands-on with Honey Bee’s including:

– Choosing a suitable location for your Bee Hive

– Bee Keeping Safety Equipment including wearing a full Bee suit* and learn the use of: J Tools, Bee Brush, Honey Bee Smoker

– Bee Keeping demonstrations…See, Smell, Hear and surround yourself with one of our Honey Bee Colonies

– Learn to conduct a Honey Bee Health Check to meet Ag Vic requirements

– Yes, we’ll be opening up one of our Bee Hives and working together to find evidence of Honey Bee Health and glorious Honey!

*Full Bee Suit and Gum Boots required for Session 2. So, do let us know in advance if you need to borrow a Bee Keeping Suit 

 

On conclusion of this workshop, participants can order their own colony of Honey Bee’s from our Regenerative Bee Farm
